Dec. 10, 2025: Divided Fed approves third interest rate cut this year, sees slower pace ahead.

In a 9-3 vote, the Fed has lowered its key overnight borrowing rate another 25 basis points to a range of 3.50% - 3.75%, indicating only one rate cut in 2026 and one rate cut in 2027 (according to the dot plot). More importantly the Fed announced another "quantitative easing" program by purchasing $40B in T-bills beginning Dec. 12, 2025.
