Mar. 7, 2024: Powell says Fed is 'not far' from the point of cutting interest rates.

On Thursday, Jerome Powell stated in front of the Senate Banking Committee that he felt policy could become less restrictive if inflation cooperates and gets back to a 2% range. "We are waiting to become more confident that inflation is moving sustainably towards 2%" the chairman said in his speech.
