Take forecasts with a "grain of salt" says Fed chairman Jerome Powell in a September 2023 news conference. With that said, Fannie Mae, Mortgage Bankers Association and Wells Fargo all agree that rates are headed lower by the end of 2024 and even lower as we get into 2025 and 2026.
