Feb. 5, 2024: Mortgage rates jump back over 7% as stronger economic data rolls in.

January’s stronger than expected jobs report plus a stronger than expected manufacturing report the following Monday helped spur interest rates back above 7% according to Mortgage News Daily, further evidencing that the hopes for a March rate cut are probably off the table.
